It’s a pretty turbulent time out there at the moment and everyone is facing a number of complications and difficulties on a personal and professional level.
We exist to promote Liverpool and Merseyside based breweries, pubs, bars and beer businesses, especially those who make up our membership. But given the advice by healthcare professionals to distance ourselves from socialising at this time, it is an understandably fraught climate and one our members and those whom we support are going to have to tackle. Two options that are not easily reconcilable.
However, we’re also acutely aware of financial pressures at this time facing individuals and families, given the need to take time away from work to self-isolate, recover, rest or care for loved ones, this in itself is trying and no one should feel the pressure to put their hand in their pocket for things which are not immediately important for day-to-day life (such as rent, domestic bills and food for example). There’ll be no judgement, certainly not from us and from what we’re hearing from the wider hospitality industry. Ultimately, we all need to look out for and be considerate of one another as much as possible. We will update our stance to adapt with best current advice and the strongest supporting position for our members as things evolve.
Be safe, be sensible, do what you can if you are in a position to help and hopefully we’ll see you all in a Merseyside pub, brewery tap or bar sooner rather than later.
