A lovely warm Thursday evening in Liverpool was accompanied by a Tap Takeover from Barcelona's Garage Beer Company at the H1780 Tap and Still on Bridgewater Street in the Baltic Triangle. The Tap and Still is still relatively in its infancy, having barely been open 5 months, but has already shown that it is prepared to take a chance on beers not made on site. The local breweries 'tap takeover' they instigated back when the SIBA Beer X roadshow was in town showed as much. This time, courtesy of Cave Direct, one of Barcelona's finest had its wares ready for consumption in Liverpool. |
There were five Garage beers on; the TRIANGLES session IPA, SOUP NEIPA, Silver Peel Berlinner Weisse, Montessori NEIPA and finally, a big imperial coffee stout in No Country. A solid base selection with nearly something for everyone.
The subtle differences in the IPAs was quite interesting, with different hop comibinations adding slighty bitter or savoury edges to some, whilst all of them were remarkably juicy and fruity. The TRIANGLES was dangerously drinkable too, especially in the warmer weather!
You can pick up Garage Beer's wares from a number of venues around Liverpool when they run out at the H1780 Tap - including SOUP, Montessori and Silver Peel in cans at Cat Hop Beers, Rainford.
